HOWLAND X On March 13, 2007, our amazing Penny entered the gates of heaven having lived a full life. Penny was born May 28, 1944, in Old Town, the daughter of Alice V. and Raymond F. Doughty. She was educated in the Howland school system, graduating high school in the Class of 1962. She had been married to the love of her life, Roy, for 42 years. Roy supported and loved Penny through every aspect of her life. Together they built a home and raised two incredible daughters; their girls, Kimberly Ann and Amy Beth. Penny had the most infectious laugh. The love and generosity that she embodied was larger than life. She was an absolute inspiration to anyone she encountered. She was very involved in her church. Always willing to lend a hand or give anything she could. She loved music and loved to dance. She thoroughly enjoyed going for rides, loved to shop, and being at the ocean. Penny fought a brave and courageous battle with cancer, first diagnosed May 23, 1995; not once asking XWhy me?X PennyXs faith in her Savior was complete and as she stated, XEither way, I win.X She is survived by the following, her mother and father, Raymond and Alice Doughty; her husband, Roy; daughter, Kim and partner, Brian, of Orono; her granddaughter, Lacie Beth, who was, is, and will always be, the sunshine of her life; daughter, Amy of Howland; and her sisters, Rae Stratton and Vinal of Howland, Peggy Thomas and Clarence XCapX of Passadumkeag and Debbie Sereyko and Kurt of Howland.
