Occ.: blacksmith. Frederick and Jennie E. Drake, along with their children
went west when Gert was a baby, travelling in a covered wagon. They made it
to Oakland, CA and Portland, OR where Frederick worked on the construction of
a college in Oakland and the courthouse in Portland.
