Born as the son of George E. and Aldanah (Arnold) Lamb and was named George B. Lamb. Aldanah died before George was a week old and he was subsequently adopted by his older sister, Minnie, and her husband Herbert C. Clark. At that time, George's name was changed to George B. Clark.
