Notes for Susan E. (Kalloch)

Susan E. Kalloch is listed on p. 1314 of the Kalloch Genealogy Manuscript, and is seen as m. to George Post. It is likely that Susan was a relative and that she was "adopted" into the household. I think she was a Post, not a Kalloch, though the
Genealogy says she m. a Post. In the Rockland Vital Records we have Thomas F. I. Benner and Susie E. Post, both of
Boston, m April 27, 1867 by Rev. Joseph Kalloch. I looked through the picture albums and found 3 pictures, all labeled:
(1) T. I. Benner, (2) Mrs T. I. Benner (Aunt Susie), and (3) Frank Benner, Son of Thomas I. and Susie (Post) Benner. Namesake of Dea. Frank S. Kalloch." So they knew each other well and I think likely "Aunt Susie" lived in Joseph & Achsah's house,
either before or after her marriage. The 3 photographs were taken in So. Framingham, MA. The photo back for Susan has: "distant relative, orphaned when very young, raised by Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Kalloch as a daughter. Taught mom to knit." While in my
handwriting, it came from my Great Aunt. I have no record of an official adoption and she kept her given name so I assume she should be a footnote rather than a second child. By "mom" it could be Almeda T. Kalloch or my mother, Eleanor, more likely
the former as my Aunt was speaking. Source: Peter T. Richardson.; Perhaps she is Susan E. Post, youngest daughter of Willaim Post and Susan Keller? One source has her mother Susan Keller's d. date as 1846, if this is correct, then she would have been
4 yrs. old, and it would have made sense to place her into a family. It's possible that at some later point, she went to live with her oldest brother, Capt. George R. Post's family, and he might have been incorrectly recorded as her husband. Source:
