Elmer A. Rising
1906 - 1987

Elmer Rising was born in Rockland, Maine. He is best know for his drawings which celebrated both nature and New England.  His drawings were exhibited at the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, Maine, the Concord Art Association, and the Reading Art Association.  He also won numerous awards for this works.  In 1985 more than 40 original pen renderings where published in a book: The Pen Renderings of Elmer Rising, New England in Black and White.
